Project Highlight – BMO Centre Radon Barrier System

CEC was selected to supply and install the complete radon barrier system for the BMO Centre Expansion in Calgary, delivering a high-performance underslab protection system for one of the city’s largest and most complex facility builds.

CEC installed 18,900 m² of 15-mil underslab vapor barrier, ensuring continuous, airtight coverage across all slab areas. The system was secured with 1,420 linear metres of termination bar wall connection and completed with 200 custom penetration boots to maintain full integrity around mechanical and structural penetrations.

Due to the aggressive concrete pour schedule, CEC completed 11 mobilizations, coordinating closely with multiple contractors and site teams to maintain sequencing, ensure readiness, and deliver all components on time.

This project highlights CEC’s capability in large-scale radon and vapor barrier installation, precise detailing, and efficient performance on high-demand construction sites.
