Project Highlight – Calgary Cancer Centre Radon Barrier System
CEC completed the full supply and installation of the radon barrier system for the Calgary Cancer Centre, delivering a critical component of the facility’s environmental protection and building performance design.
CEC installed 24,400 m² of Stego 15-mil vapor barrier along with 24,400 m² of protective textile, ensuring complete underslab coverage throughout the structure. The installation was executed with precise detailing around penetrations, edges, and transitions to maintain a continuous and durable radon-resistant membrane.
Working within one of Alberta’s most significant medical infrastructure projects, CEC coordinated closely with multiple trades to maintain schedule, ensure readiness for slab pours, and uphold stringent quality and safety standards. The result is a high-integrity radon barrier system designed to support long-term building performance and occupant protection.
